Explore Innovation at the 2017 Food+City Challenge Prize
What is the food+City CHallenge Prize?
The Food+City Challenge Prize is an international startup competition that encourages innovation in the urban food system. We encourage entrepreneurs from across the globe to create businesses and discover technologies that get healthier food to more people with less waste in a more efficient way. Finalists compete for a $50,000 purse and a sweet package of products and services. The eighteen finalists in the 2017 competition hail from nine different countries. Each of the finalists has their own unique way of addressing the many intricacies of how we feed cities. We're shining a spotlight on critical food supply chain issues and showcasing new business solutions that can improve how we feed cities around the world.
What is the F+C Challenge prize process?
We go out with a call for submissions around the world between July 1st and October 15th 2016. Our esteemed advisers choose finalists from the entries submitted. We then pair the finalists with qualified mentors until Prize Day, February 4th, 2017. Finalists convene in Austin on February 4th, 2017 to compete for $50,000 dollars and in-kind prizes from Moo.com and RWR Legal.
